In 1971, Gary E. Schwartz PhD became an assistant professor at Harvard University where he conducted early biofeedback research and helped launch the fields of health psychology and behavioral medicine. Later, he became a tenured professor of psychology and psychiatry at Yale University and directed their Psychophysiology Center.
Dr. Schwartz and his colleagues published hundreds of scientific journal papers including six in Science. Throughout these years, he maintained the strict materialist view that consciousness was a temporary by-product of the human brain.
However, perhaps because of two near-death experiences he had as a child, he noticed a growing curiosity about the question of survival of consciousness and personality after the body dies. This research began after he was recruited to the University of Arizona as a senior professor.
This book describes 28 years of his university-based scientific laboratory experiments. The data from this research now definitively demonstrates that life continues after bodily death. The papers present evidence from several years of experiments with the Plasma Globe System that definitively demonstrate scientifically that consciousness and personality continue after death. The word ‘personality’ is a key one because what continues after bodily death isn’t just an amorphous / generic energy / consciousness.
